Outdoor activities during IPCG 2017
We are getting closer to the biannual IPCG conference and this year will be more than 140 attendees which makes one of the most crowded IPCG conferences! In order to have a good time and to enjoy the Basque Country we are planning different activities.
The afternoon of the 28th of June, Wednesday, will be devoted to outdoor activities ( see the Program) and there will be different options. For those who love visiting cities, you will have the opportunity to visit either Donostia-San Sebastian or Bilbao. In Donostia, you will visit “La Concha” Bay, the cathedral of Buen Pastor, the Town Hall and the old part, which is full of bars with really tasty “pintxos”. On the other hand, in Bilbao you will visit the Old Town, Arriaga Theater, Guggenheim museum (you can visit during the free time) and Euskalduna Palace. Buses from Arantzazu and guided visits will be organized for both cities. After the guided tour you will have around 2 hours of free time to enjoy the city as you wish.
On the contrary, for those who prefer to spend the afternoon in close contact with nature, a walking trip to Urbia (Aizkorri-Aratz Natural park) will be organized. It will be more or less 2 hours hiking trip starting in Arantzazu, find more information about the route in the following link: https://es.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=6723918. However, if the weather forecast prediction is not good enough this plan will be cancelled. Even if the weather is mild in June (around 20 ºC), bear in mind that the weather in the Basque Country might change rapidly.
During the registration, you will have to choose between these three options since buses and the guided visits must be organized previously.
Looking forward to meeting all of you in a couple of weeks!
