Dr. Elodie Bourgeat-Lami and Prof. Henri Cramail
The first invited speaker which we would like to introduce you is Dr. Elodie Bourgeat-Lami. She is Research Director at CNRS (Laboratoire de Chimie, Catalyse, Polymères et Procédés, C2P2) in Lyon. Her major interest in the field of material science is devoted to the synthesis of organic/inorganic hybrids and nanocomposites. Her research is focused mainly on the synthesis and characterization of novel hybrid colloids and nanocomposites via heterophase polymerization techniques, “living” controlled polymerizations and sol-gel chemistry. The themes she works on include:
Designed construction of colloidal nanocomposites with well defined compositions and morphologies
The grafting of polymers from or to the surface of preformed mineral particles
The combination of free radical polymerization and sol-gel polycondensation to synthesize novel hybrid structures
Her talk will be entitled “Synthesis of inorganic/organic colloids in aqueous dispersed media: how CRPL can be a valuable tool towards new hybrid morphologies”.
Prof. Henri Cramail coming from the University of Bordeaux is our second speaker to be announced. His current research interests include the coordinative polymerization of olefins and cyclo-olefins, the step-growth polymerizations in bulk and in dispersed media (water, super-critical CO2) and the design of new bio-based polymers from renewable resources (vegetable oils, terpenes, polysaccharides, phenols) through green pathways (catalysis and processes). His talk will be about “Water-borne dispersion of Bio-Based Polyurethanes”.
